...MY BUMPBAND
‘I struggled to find nice maternity clothes, so a Bumpband - an elastic band of fabric that covers the gap between your top and your trousers - was ideal. It looked just like another layer of clothing, which is quite trendy at the moment, and meant I could wear normal tops right up to the birth.’
Laura Tuttle, 38, from London, is mum to Lily, 6 months.
Laura’s Bumpband cost £18 (plus £2.50 p&p), from www.bumpband.co.uk

A fashion essential
Bumpbands first came onto the market when
I was nearing the end of my first pregnancy so although I
didn't purchase one first time around, I knew I wanted to
try one with number two. I'm currently three weeks pregnant
and although I'm in the early stages, my belly is expanding
at a rate of knots! The Bumpband fits snugly over your bump
to provide support and cover up that tell-tale gap between
your trousers and tops. It's also very handy for jeans fans
who want to keep wearing their denims but can no longer do
the zip up as the band flattens them onto your tummy - keeping
them in place whilst offering maximum comfort. I've worn the
Bumpband every day since I received it and expect to continue
wearing it until I'm forced to go out and buy some proper
maternity clothes!
Verdict: A great buy for fashion-concious
ladies with a bump |

My bump is getting
bigger. Do I have to wear a tent?
In the later pregnancy, when you need much
more support, try the Bumpband. This is the brainchild of
Jennifer Park who created it when she was expecting twins.
Its strongly elasticated fabric provides really good support
as your bump gets heavier, relieving the pull on your tummy
muscles. It costs £18 and comes in black or white.

Have you ever considered buying a Bumpband?
It is a revoltionary new garment for mums to be. Simply wear it over your tummy underneath your clothes. The band will grow with you and if it shows, who cares, it will look oh so trendy. It is worth paying that little bit extra for a really good one - cheap ones will lose their stretch and proove to be a bad buy. Take a look at www.bumpband.co.uk where you will pay £18 - £2.50 p&p. Good for breastfeeding too after the baby is born.

BABY BUMP
Jenny Park juggles being a full time mum to Oliver and Ben with handling the launch of her new product, Bumpband. The Bumpband, devised while she was pregnant, fits around the baby bump and is designed to provide a fashionable and supportive alternative to maternity wear. It can be worn from the early stages of pregnancy, throughout and after the birth and it grows with the wearer.
Jenny, 36, said: “When I was pregnant I found myself cutting off the bottom of my vest tops and wearing them as a layered effect. The bump band means you can still wear your own clothes but the Bumpband will cover up your tummy.
‘I have managed to set up the company during nap times and after the boys have gone to bed. I was on the telephone the other day to my manufacturer, phone in hand and making the boys’ dinners with the other hand. It has been difficult to juggle but worth every minute. I call it mum power.’

A BUSY mother from Warrington
has developed a product she believes will revolutionise the
way pregnant women dress.
Jennifer Park, who is originally from Woolton,
has launched the Bumpband on to the market, after two years
of researching the idea.
The mother of twins said she used to cut
the bottom off vests and wear them around her bump to allow
her to continue to wear her pre-pregnancy clothes, and this
is how she came up with the plans for Bumpband, which is to
be sold through the internet.
She said: "Bumpband has taken over
two years to set up with a lot of research and testing on
mums-to-be taking place during that time.
"It is a fashionable alternative to
maternity wear but also gives much-needed support and lift."
Jennifer, who is married to DJ Graeme Park,
added: "It can be worn from the very early stages right
up until the end of the pregnancy and during the post pregnancy
period."
She is selling the
product online at bumpband.co.uk |
